Cooperative Documentation:

Provides technical documentation on the tools used within the MetaArchive network. This is a valuable resource for members and nonmembers alike, particularly for anyone hosting, participating in, or interesed in a LOCKSS-based preservation network. Due to security issues, some of this content is restricted to member users.

Cooperative Charter
Provides the mission, goals, and organizing principles of the MetaArchive Cooperative; outlines our membership levels; and details the roles and responsibilities in this collaborative paradigm.

Membership Agreement
Defines the terms of the agreement made between members of the MetaArchive Cooperative, providing a framework for these relationships while remaining sufficiently flexible to address evolving needs of the Cooperative.

Cooperative Flyer, 2009:
Two-page description of the Cooperative, its mission, and its membership levels.

Technical Specifications:
Details regarding the network specifications/technical infrastructure required of Preservation and Sustaining Members.

MetaArchive NDIIPP Project Proposal (extension, 2007):
Contract describing the activites that the Cooperative is undertaking in its work with the Library of Congress through the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program between 2007 and 2010.

MetaArchive NDIIPP Project Proposal (original, 2004):
MetaArchive contract with the Library of Congress for our initial investigation of a cooperative model of peer institutions partnering for digital preservation purposes.

Guide to Distributed Digital Preservation:
Draft manuscript of our forthcoming publication. Access is restricted to current members. This manuscript is slated for publication (here as a freely downloadable pdf as well as in print) in December 2009.

Market Analysis
This market analysis concentrates on the Cooperative's primary markets: University libraries and archives.

Management Plan
The document includes detailed information regarding the ownership structure of the Cooperative, our internal and external human resources, and the human resources we anticipate that we will need in the future to sustain our business.

Operations Plan
This document describes the operations of the MetaArchive Cooperative. The document includes information regarding the Cooperative's decentralized structure, day-to-day workflows, monitoring and control of quality of services.

Risk Assessment
The following document is an assessment of the key elements of the MetaArchive Cooperative that impact the Cooperative's performance, sustainability and accountability.

Financial Plan
This document describes the financial plan of the MetaArchive Cooperative for the period 2007–2011. The document briefly covers expectations for the Cooperative’s growth and how this growth will impact the Cooperative’s revenue streams, as well as anticipated expenditures for the Cooperative.

Extension Harvest Plan:
Charts the network development and harvest plans for the overall MetaArchive network, including building on the Southern Digital Culture archive and founding two new archives.

Outreach Program Implementation Plan (Extension Phase):
Describes the plan for the MetaArchive Cooperative’s outreach and community building activities for the extension phase of our NDIIPP work.

Data and Node Recovery:
Provides an in-depth guide to LOCKSS data and node recovery activities that may need to be undertaken by Private LOCKSS Networks in case of node failures.

Conspectus Database:
Browse the directory of metadata associated with the collections currently stored within the MetaArchive networks.

Conspectus Schema:
This document charts and defines in detail the thirty-five categories of metadata collected for each record within the MetaArchive collection-level conspectus metadata specification.
